Happy Birthday Richard Gere!

If you read my blog at all you know I am totally obsessed with Richard Gere! Can you blame me...he is absolutely GORGEOUS! Yum! Anyway today is his 61st birthday! And seriously I think he is cuter than EVER! :)

I say it a million times...he just keeps getting better with age!
And seriously...hot...huh?! To me he is the sexiest man alive (second to my husband of course)!
I wanted to send RG a gift for his birthday, but apparently you cannot send yourself through the mail! That makes me sooo sad! :(
And plus I think it would take a little more than just three stamps to mail myself! ;) And a lot more bubble wrap! So I guess he'll have to come to my house if he wants his gift! ;)

Movie Monday- First Knight

Today's movie review is of the 1995 movie "First Knight."
Richard Gere plays the character "Lancelot," and Sean Connery plays the character of "King Arthur." To be very honest with you this is the second time I tried watching this movie, and it's sooo hard for me to pay attention! lol I don't like "knight" or "pirate" movies so I cannot concentrate while watching it! lol

To me it's like watching a foreign movie...without subtitles! lol But from what I have watched and understand...Lancelot (Richard Gere) rescues Guinevere from a runaway carriage. He quickly falls in love with her, but she is soon marrying King Arthur (Sean Connery).

Guinevere is kidnapped and Lancelot rescues her again and takes her back to King Arthur. King Arthur is impressed by Lancelot and gives him a space at his "Round Table" at his kingdom of Camelot. Guinevere, who is struggling with her feelings for Lancelot, gets upset when he decides to leave. They kiss goodbye passionately as King Arthur walks in and discovers them. Then this is where it becomes blurry to me lol....both Lancelot and King Arthur declare their love for Guinevere. Somehow they are both put on trial and a character of "Malagant" comes to Camelot and wages War.

It ends with King Arthur dying and telling Lancelot to take care of her (meaning Camelot and Guinevere).
I am so sorry for the confusing movie review, but I couldn't follow this movie easily. It's not the movies fault, it's just that it's not my kind of movie to watch! lol

I normally don't like the shaggy hair RG look! It's what I call his "Fraggle Rock" look, but for some reason in this movie it really works for him! I think it's his sword fighting skills or how he looks very dirty and unkept...but it sooo works! lol

I give him a 6 on the Richard Gere hotness scale! I love the fact that he knows how to use a sword & he rides and rescues her on a black horse!
Here is one of my favorite clips from the movie. You can watch it here.

I totally recommend this movie, if it's the type of movie you like. I just get lost when I hear words like "Round Table" and "Camelot" and things like that! lol

Make sure that you check out my post tomorrow...it's Richard Gere's 61 birthday! :) I have a funny post tomorrow for you to read! ;)

My Baby is FIVE!

My oldest Ben turned five-years-old a week and a half ago! It's hard to believe that he will be starting Kindergarten in a few weeks! Here are some photos from the last five years! Wow, time flies when you're having fun! :)

Here we are in the hosptial shortly after he was born. He was sooo tiny!
This next photo I took about two weeks after he was born. This has always been one of my favorites! It's Ben and his daddy's hands! We compared their hands again tonight and Ben's nearly covers his daddy's hand! He is growing up soo quickly!
Here is a photo of Ben at two months old. This was his first trip to the local Fall Festival!
Here he is as a cute little Santa for his first Christmas!
And his first Easter with Allie!
This is his second Halloween!
He was sick and missed his school photos at daycare, so I took this one at home when he was better! Here he is this past Spring at his soccer game.
And here is the birthday boy this year as he turned five! Happy Birthday Ben we love you sooo much!

Bye bye birdies!

I haven't posted anything in the last couple of days, because it has been super hectic around here. On Tuesday I spent the day shopping with my mom and when I got home look what I found! The baby birds finally left the nest! It was sad to see them go!
After I got home from shopping and I left my dog out, the mama and daddy birds were going CRAZY! Allie was at the fence sniffing and sniffing and the birds plus a few others joined in at dive bombing her! I yelled with fear that she got one of the birds, but luckily she didn't! They must have been nearby though. We checked the entire yard and there was no sign of feathers or the birds, so I guess it was a success! The mama and daddy birds were still coming at us angrily for a day or so, but we finally reclaimed the yard!

Yesterday we removed the nest and installed a steering wheel and telescope on the boy's play set. As we were taking down the nest one of the birds was throwing a fit for a minute or two, but finally flew away and left us alone! Maybe she was just thanking us for letting her stay over the past month! lol Next week I plan to take the nest and the photos in for the kids in Ben's class!

Yesterday Ben celebrated his birthday at school. His real birthday isn't until July, but they are celebrating it because school is out soon. I made cupcakes and stayed while the kids celebrated, and after the little party we stuck around the classroom as the kids played. Alex had such a great time playing with the big kids!

Here's Ben enjoying his little party!
This time I decided to make something simple. At Christmas I spent many hours making and decorating sugar cookies for Ben's Christmas party at school. In the end, most were not eaten and were thrown away. It was very frustrating! The cupcakes were easy, took no time at all, and they were all eaten! Definitely the way to go in the future!
Today I planted a miniature gnome garden and will post those photos tomorrow! It came out really cute! Hope you're having a great night!

Randoms

I'm finally back to the blogging world! I hate being one of those bloggers, who doesn't blog regularly...but hopefully in the New Year I can blog on a regular basis! Plus, Santa is bringing me a laptop so that will help me blog more conveniently! Sometimes I find it too hard to get away from the kids and go upstairs to blog....they get into so much trouble when I leave them downstairs alone for even a few minutes(see photo evidence #5)!

Plus this month was super hectic and crazy! I got my purse stolen a few weeks ago, from my car outside of my house! It had my wallet, social security card, and driver's license, and not to mention many credit cards! Plus my wonderful pink camera that my husband bought me on my last birthday! I don't understand how people can be so mean...especially near the holidays! It's just been one of those months!

Also my baby, Alexander, turned 3-years-old on December 12th. Here's a photo of him listening while everyone sang to him! Don't let his innocent face fool you...again see photo evidence #5! lol
Early in December we got enough snow to build our first snowman! Ben slept through the fun, but Alexander had a great time! We had no carrots, so my husband substituted with a celery stick nose, and gravel eyes!
A few days ago the East Coast got pounded with snow! We probably got 6-8 inches. Here is my little dog Allie trying to walk across the yard! Poor thing, she's up to her belly in snow!
Benjamin had an Advent Program for his school the other night! Here is the whole school standing in front of the church. We got to the program late. We really weren't late, we were actually on time. The paper that was sent home said: "Do not bring your child before 6:45pm." The program started at 7. So I followed orders...we showed up at 6:45 and the church was packed! This is a very large Catholic Church...and we sat a few rows from the back! I was allowed to go up front to take photos when Ben sang. Here he is in the middle when he first saw me. He got a huge smile on his face and winked at me! My heart melted! He's growing up soo fast!
Here is photo evidence #5. Alexander, my 3-year-old, ruined two dozen cookies by sticking his finger into each one! I told him all morning not to touch the cookies. I went upstairs for a few minutes, only to find him missing when I returned. He was hiding under the kitchen table saying "I sorry...I sorry!" I wanted to scream! lol
And lastly, last week I found a package in my mailbox! My blogger friend Kristin sent me this plaque! She knew my love for cupcakes and she thought it would be perfect for me! Well she's right...it's too perfect, and I love it! Thank you so much Kristin! Check out Kristin's amazing blog "The Goat!"
Tomorrow is Ben's Christmas Party at school. So I'm going to go and finish making chocolate covered pretzels for him to pass out to his friends! I'll post photos from the party tomorrow! Have a wonderful night!

Giveaway Time!

Hi everyone!

Nights in Rodanthe happens to be my all time favorite Richard Gere movie! I have never cried like that before! Who can resist Richard Gere? I know I can't! A loud weeping cry wanted to escape from me in the movie theatre, but I held it in and cried silently instead! This resulted in sore throat from all the sobbing! It was the first time that I could really relate to a character in a movie so perfectly!

My husband and I had a long-very deep conversation after the movie because we related to the love that the two characters shared in the movie! I don't want to mention to much...because I don't want to spoil the movie for those of you that hasn't seen it yet!

I've been super excited about the release of the dvd.....not only can I now cry as loud as I want in the privacy of my own home, but it's released the day before my birthday! Yeah...Happy Birthday to me right?! I already told my husband that I want an early birthday present. I would prefer Richard Gere, but I think the movie will do! Besides he's busier with other things right now like freeing Tibet!

So...in honor of Valentine's Day and a truly incredible movie I want to giveaway "The Nights in Rodanthe" dvd! I will pick the lucky winner on the morning that the movie's released:
February 10th!

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post, and tell me what movie really makes you cry!

Have a great night and GOOD LUCK!

Hugs,
Ruth Ann
