Movie Monday-Unfaithful

It's movie Monday here at My Remodeled Nest! I totally LOVE Mondays now, especially when I can watch a Richard Gere movie!
This week's movie is "Unfaithful." I love this movie! I've watched it a million times! It's very steamy, and there's lots of unexpected twists and turns. This movie also stars Diane Lane (who is my "girl crush" by the way! lol Maybe next years Movie Monday will feature Diane Lane...she's just too cute! I hope I can look that good when I'm in my mid forties!

This movie is about the Sumner Family. A family who lives in the suburbs outside of New York City. They appear to be a very happy family. Connie Sumner (Diane Lane), is a stay at home mom who volunteers and does a lot for her young son's school. Edward Sumner (Richard Gere) owns his own company and works in the city.

Connie has it all, a drop dead gorgeous, sexy, intelligent, HOT husband (Richard Gere lol), a beautiful house in the suburbs, and a wonderful son. What more could she need?

One windy day when she goes into the city she literally runs into Paul Martel (played by Olivier Martinez). Paul, who is in his twenties, is from France and is staying at a friend's apartment. He invites her up to his apartment so she could clean up her scraped up knee. After she arrives home she cannot stop thinking about him, and actually calls him to get his address so she could send him a bottle of wine as a thank you.

Paul invites Connie to his apartment for coffee, and she goes. That decision led to her obsession for Paul, and from then on there was no turning back! She began to lead two lives. One that was very steamy and sexual. She did things that she would never do in her "normal" relationship with her husband. This furthered her obsession with Paul.
Her second life was the wholesome stay at home mom, who made costumes for her son's play at school, and always had dinner on the table for her husband. The relationship with her husband, which was once good, began to change after she met Paul. Edward (Richard Gere) began to notice the changes and became suspicious. I highly recommend this movie!

My sister-in-law thinks that Olivier Martinez is hot in this movie, but I don't find him attractive. Maybe it's because he's young, I don't know. I just don't know what the appeal is! The only thing I can say to Diane Lane's character is: "HELLO...YOU ARE MARRIED TO RICHARD GERE! WHY OH WHY WOULD YOU CHEAT ON HIM? HAVE YOU SEEN HIM?!"

I can somewhat relate to her character in the movie. I'm a stay-at-home mom and understand how you can feel unappreciated and just blah! You want to be noticed, loved, and you want to feel hot! There were many days when my boys were babies that I always had puke or boogers on my clothes and I wanted to feel sexy and somehow as a mother you don't feel that way! I can see how easily it would be to become obsessed with that "other" life. But seriously how can you cheat on Richard Gere? The only thing I think I would have changed about the movie is that I would have made her have an affair with Richard Gere's character in the movie...now that would have been HOT! lol But it was still good anyway!

My favorite quote from the movie is from a book that Paul gave Connie. It says:
"Drink wine, this is life eternal
This, all that life can give to you
It is the season for wine, roses, and drunken friends
Be happy for this moment, this moment is your life."

I give the movie a Richard Gere Hotness Rating of an 8. His trademark grey hair is dyed brown in the movie, but he still looks incredibly hot that way! lol
Here is a collage of the movie that I found online.
Here's the movie's trailer if you want to preview it. Be sure to pause my music player on the left hand side so you can hear the movie!

We just got back from our first camping trip with our new camper. I'll blog about that tomorrow! Hope you are enjoying your Monday!
